A note on precision and computing effort: The number of allocations grows very quickly with the number of securities and the fineness of the step: 12 securities in 5% steps are already around 85 million allocations. To keep the server stable, every run has an upper limit. If your settings exceed it, the backtest doesn't start but tells you the limit — then you choose a coarser step or fewer securities. You see how many allocations will be computed before you start.

What we are most often asked before signing up.

What is free, and what costs money?

Signing up and all features for your own investments are free, and you don't need any payment details. You get a one-time balance of 20,000 credits. It only costs money once they are used up and you want to keep calculating.

What does a backtest, a simulation or an update cost?

Each of these runs costs 1,000 credits, which is €1 in the smallest pack and €0.54 to €0.66 with Plus or Pro. An update brings your Watchlist and your saved portfolios up to date. It counts once a day, no matter how many securities they contain, and is only charged when there are new prices. Thorough planning with 5 backtests and 15 simulations costs 20,000 credits. Viewing results, adding securities, reports, the test securities and the Community-Backtests cost nothing.

What packs are there?

€5 for 5,000 credits, €10 for 11,000 credits, €25 for 30,000 credits and €100 for 130,000 credits, that is 5, 11, 30 or 130 runs. Purchased credits never expire. You can buy them after signing in under “Plan & credits”, or directly when you're short of credits for a run.

What happens when my credits are used up?

Your account remains. You can still see your results, portfolios and the Watchlist as of their last update. To keep calculating, you buy a pack or take out a subscription. Automatic updates pause until you have credits again.

Do credits expire?

Purchased credits never expire. Subscription credits are valid for their calendar month and expire at the end of the month, with no rollover. The starter credits are valid for 12 months. The monthly allowance is used first, then the starter credits, then purchased credits.

Pack or subscription: which suits me?

If you plan now and then or update your Watchlist every week, packs are the cheapest option, at roughly €35 to €75 a year. Plus pays off from around 11 runs a month, for example if you update every week and plan every two months. Pro pays off from around 47 runs a month, for example if you update daily and plan several times a month. With monthly billing, both thresholds are slightly higher. In the app, “Plan & credits” shows you what is cheapest for your usage.

Am I allowed to calculate for clients?

Free, Plus and Pro are for your own investment decisions. If you calculate for others, choose Team or Professional. They also include client accounts and PDF reports with your own logo.

How do I cancel?

Any time, effective at the end of the paid term. Until then you keep using your subscription, and purchased credits remain yours afterwards. The quickest way needs no sign-in: the link “Cancel contracts here” at the bottom of every page.

Are these final prices?

Yes. All prices include VAT. The sale runs through Link (Stripe): Link handles the tax and sends you the receipt and invoice.
