Community-Backtests
Look at backtests other users have published and compare the portfolios by return and risk metrics.
⚠ This overview shows users who have published backtests. The positions are based only on past calculation results for individual metrics. They say nothing about actual investment skill and are not a recommendation. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance.
All portfolios are calculated the same way: from 2020, distributions reinvested, without taxes or fees

Position
Metric explained
How the ranking points are calculated
- Position 1: 1000 points | Position 2: 800 | Position 3: 650
- Positions 4-10: 500 to 100 points
- Positions 11-50: 90 to 10 points
- Positions 51-100: 9 to 1 points
For each metric, only a creator's highest-placed portfolio counts. The creators are then ranked per metric and receive points for their position. The points from the six metrics are added up; the same portfolio can count for several metrics. Many points mean good positions in these historical comparisons. They say nothing about investment skill and are not a recommendation.
Qualification & Participation
Which portfolios appear?
Portfolios from your backtests that use only Paperball prices (no price files of your own), hold at least two securities and start before 2020. Backtests with a savings or withdrawal plan don't count. Everyone is compared the same way: from 2020, distributions reinvested, without taxes or fees.
How many and for how long?
Up to five of your portfolios per metric with a positive value, each allocation only once. An entry stays visible for six months. If you run a new backtest that meets these conditions or update one of these portfolios, the six months start again for all your entries.
How to go about it
- Sign up for free.
- WatchlistSave the funds, ETFs or shares you're interested in.
- Backtest setsPut a backtest set together from them: the securities you want to test together. Paperball only calculates the allocations in the backtest itself.
- StartChoose the backtest set and the securities, check the settings and start.
- Public profileTurn it on in the settings – then your portfolios with the highest metrics appear here.
Taking part is voluntary. You can switch it off at any time under Settings → Public profile.
